The Deva PCI CMM Controller is designed to meet the demanding requirements of the OEM and retro-fit co-ordinate measuring machine market. This objective has been achieved on a single PCI interface card, which integrates digital IO, a Renishaw touch probe interface and fully featured probe cycle library.

Incorporating high speed, closed loop axis control within the PC allows a highly cost-effective CMM solution. On-board signal conditioning circuitry ensures high-precision position measurement so that external probe conditioning equipment is no longer needed.

An ActiveX control encapsulates the functionality required by CNC CMM applications in a fast, easy to use component that is compatible with rapid application development tools such as Visual Basic and Visual 'C'. Example source code demonstrates the capabilities of the ActiveX, which is also compatible with many popular 3rd-party CMM software packages. Axis tuning and jogging facilities are provided for easy machine set-up. The Deva CMM component is designed to work with any Microsoft compatible joystick connected to the host PC. Operation of the joystick buttons, point-of-view hat and throttle are fully configurable.

ACCESSORIES

Deva 020 USB Joystick Interface is available for users wishing to connect to proprietory analog joysticks.

Deva 018 single axis sine-wave interpolator (018-1SIN) used to convert sine wave scales and encoders to digital.

Deva 023 reader head pre-amp (023-1SIN-BS1) for use with a variety of scales and encoders requiring a pre-amp.

CONNECTION KITS

The Deva PCI CMM Controller is supported by a range of connection kits which bring the on board IDC connectors through to 'D' type connectors on a PC bracket.

Four types of KIT are available for connection to the encoders, probe, IO and 4th Axis connectors and are designated 004-CONKIT, 004-REN-KIT, 004-PCI-IO-KIT and 004-AXIS-KIT respectively.

Combinations of the KITs are also available combining two connections onto one bracket where practical. Please note the Deva 004 has two IO connectors therefore an application may require two IO kits.

The kit contents are as follows :

004CONKIT contains 3 x 15 way HD plugs and 'D' shells to make encoder connections.

004-REN-KIT contains a 9 pin sub-miniature female D connector on a PC bracket, a 6.5" cable to a 10 way IDC header, 9 way plug and 'D' shell.

004-PCI-IO-KIT contains a 25 way IDC female D connector, on a PC bracket, a 7" cable to a 25 way IDC female header, 25 way male D plug and a 25 way metalised plastic shell.

004-AXIS-KIT contains a 15 pin high-density sub-miniature female D connector on a PC bracket, a 6.5" cable to a 16 way IDC header, 15 way plug and 'D' shell.
